Considering the increase in the number of computer security incidents and the need for academic research centers to support and meet the research needs of the society in this field and create opportunities for a better tomorrow in the field of cyber security, the CERT Research Center of Kharazmi University (awareness, support, assistance for vulnerabilities and incidents) Cyber Security) was established in the summer of 2015.
The specialized awareness, support and aid center was opened in Kharazmi, with the approach of using university forces to serve the country's industry and strengthen the link between university and industry, and its activity was officially certified by the Honorable Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Dr. Vaezi, with the provincial trip of the honorable president, on Wednesday, November 26, 2015, he was given to the honorable president of the university, Dr. Subhan Allahi.
The purpose of establishing CERT research center is organized research activity in the field of vulnerabilities and cyber security incidents, and in order to promote knowledge and technology and create a suitable platform for linking academic research with the needs of society and help train the research force in this field in the country.
• Help in solving problems and fixing the country's technical weaknesses in the field of vulnerabilities and cyber security incidents
• Improving knowledge and creating technology in the field of cyber security through research activities
• Identifying better methods and creating more appropriate technology in managing the progressive changes in intruders' techniques to deal with attacks and ensure the continuity of critical cyber services.
• Identifying methods and creating technology to detect and handle cyber security incidents as well as study measures to prevent incidents
• Examining computer security emergencies, identifying and fixing vulnerabilities
• Security in computer systems
• Research to improve the security of current systems
• Activities in the form of 5 research teams:
• Vulnerability study and cyber security incident handling team
• Internet of Things security analysis and review team
• The software vulnerability detection team (especially in the field of mobile app software)
• Data center consolidation and security team
• Mobile programmers and security in this field
• Improving knowledge and creating technology in the field of cyber security through research activities
